About the Author
Douglas E. Richards is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of WIRED and numerous other novels (see list below). A former biotech executive, Richards earned a BS in microbiology from the Ohio State University, a master's degree in genetic engineering from the University of Wisconsin (where he engineered mutant viruses now named after him), and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

In recognition of his work, Richards was selected to be a "special guest" at San Diego Comic-Con International, along with such icons as Stan Lee and Ray Bradbury. His essays have been featured in National Geographic, the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Earth & Sky, Today's Parent, and many others.

Her book describes how she (nee Aline Griffith) was recruited by the OSS while working as a model at Hattie Carnegie's, trained in espionage, and sent to Madrid. Once there, says Romanones, she decoded secret messages, organized a chain of women spies, and mingled among the cream of Spanish society to ferret out information about Nazis and German sympathizers. good book for law students and legal practitioners

This book was required for a communication class in school, very helpful book, I actually referred back to it while writing briefs and motions frequently!

Book is decent, It needs to be shortened in sections to be easier to read and use. Great concept though.

No idea why law professors like this book, nobody actually reads it. If you are going to buy this for a legal writing class don't waste your money.

I'm not sure what happened during printing but my "new" book is completely destroyed. While it is still fully packaged and shrink-wrapped, every single page of the book is on an angle and on many pages the print goes into the binding and is not legible. Additionally, the bottoms of every single page are sealed together, and without being aware of that, when I opened the book, about 15 pages ripped apart and I'm going to need to buy a new book if I feel like being prepared for class at all.

Here are some more things you should know before you read on . . . The Ancient Maya called our world Middleworld, because it was sandwiched between the upper world of the heavens and the underworld, which they called Xibalba.
The Jaguar Stones are fictional, as are all the main characters except for Friar Diego DeLanda. He was the true-life Spanish priest who, in 1562, reduced the sum of Ancient Maya knowledge to ashes by making one huge bonfire of all their hundreds of folding bark books. (As far as we know, only three books and a fragment of a fourth survived.)
San Xavier is a fictional country based on present-day Belize. Maya or Mayan? We have followed the scholarly precedent of using Maya as both noun and adjective to descibe the people and their culture, reserving the word Mayan for the family of thirty languages still spoken by the six million Maya living in Central America today.
